For Lehigh County juniors interested in these and related careers, Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s Emerging Health Professionals is a must-consider program. It’s designed to give 12th graders a head start on college while exposing them to a variety of career pathways through job shadows, hands-on training, and clinical study at facilities across the region. Successful participants complete the program with eight college credits and industry credentials under their belt.
Made possible through LCTI’s partnership with Lehigh Valley Health Network, Lehigh Carbon Community College and Penn State Lehigh Valley, Emerging Health Professionals has served as a springboard for doctors, medical scientists, nurses and physician assistants among others.
Along with being a Lehigh County resident in the Class of 2025, applicants must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better, have excellent attendance, have completed biology and chemistry, scheduled or completed trigonometry, have a written recommendation from their science teacher or guidance counselor and meet academic prerequisites for LCCC and Penn State. LCTI is accepting applications through Friday, Jan. 5, 2024.
